Visit Paris this November and you will find the art and science of photography in the spotlight in a range of events covering every aspect from technological innovations to creativity. Hobbyists, collectors, professionals and manufacturers of cameras and equipment will converge on Paris for three concurrent shows, all of which are easily reached from very photogenic Hotel Eden.
World class Photography Shows in Paris this Autumn
Photography is an art form. Artists use this particular medium to express ideas and feelings. If you approach photography from this angle, or if you are a collector of fine photographic work, then you need to make your way to the Grand Palais from November 13th to 16th, as that superb Beaux Arts building hosts Paris Photo. The 18th edition of this world renowned event will feature over 140 exhibitors from close to three dozen countries. Exhibitions of material that is rarely in the public eye will be just some of the attractions of this landmark show.
If you favour a friendly, inclusive, informal event at which enthusiasts can get together to talk about their photographic passion and which reaches out to potential new enthusiasts, then Fotofever Paris is recommended. Taking place in the exhibition area of the Carrousel du Louvre from November 13th to 17th, this show is a lot of fun. Founded by Cécile Schall, daughter of the respected and pioneering photojournalist, Roger Schall, the intention of Fotofever Paris is to highlight the sheer diversity and pleasure afforded by the medium, which it does admirably.
If you incline more towards the technological aspects of the photographic medium and have an interest in the latest equipment and innovations, then you will find that the Salon de la Photo, which runs from November 14th to 16th at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre, will be a source of endless fascination. Workshops, classes, interviews, conferences, manufacturer’s demonstrations and a superb retail area add up to a photography enthusiast’s dream, whether amateur or professional.
Come and visit the next Trade Fairs in Paris
Easily reached from the Hotel Eden, the exhibition hall Porte de Versailles is one of the finest exhibition centres in Europe. Upcoming this autumn are two hugely popular trade fairs having a very broad appeal. The Foire d'Automne de Paris (Autumn Fair) from October 24th to November 2nd is a complete lifestyle oriented show dealing with items for the home, food and drink, health and beauty and much more besides. Running at approximately the same time is the Salon du Chocolat, from October 29th to November 2nd which explores every aspect of this popular, healthy foodstuff, including wearing it! Both shows have much to offer the whole family.
